9th-Nov-2009 09:45 am - Writer's Block: Instant attraction

Do you think romantic chemistry is instant or evolving? Have you ever given someone a second (or third) chance and lived to regret it? Have you ever fallen in love with someone you didn't particularly like or desire at first?

It's instant, and hits you like a sack of bricks. Even if you think they're annoying, you can't get them out of your head. It's a little tickle that starts with a rush of adrenaline. At least in my experience. It might evolve into something deeper as time goes by, but it starts at first eye contact.

I love who I both hate and love and hate that I love them. LOL! Lust, love and hate are are steps apart from each other, and you can go from one to the other in a heartbeat, and back again. I think it's giving them the headspace that is the common factor in all three of those things.

But I believe in true love. If I didn't, I think I would have completely collapsed into despair(which I still struggle with) a very long time ago.

I need to do laundry and more homework.

I reeeeeeaaaaaaaaaally don't feel like being responsible today, and I really need to be *right now* as we're going to a bar in a bit to watch the football game with friends. (Note: I could not care less about football; but I like the friends, and I like The Beau, and I like beer, so I'm hoping that combo will outweigh my extreme lack of interest in the game itself.)

Oy. My weekends need to be one day longer. Or I need someone to stand over me with a wooden stick, all "Do your stuff or I hit you with this! Go!"

(Note: also does not help that I received Civ IV today. I would like to FINALLY hook up my speakers and play PC games ALL DAY.)
Today is the anniversary of the October Revolution.

My mind is flooded with images of St. Petersburg, the Winter Palace, the streets I walked that were the stage of a revolution that would change the world. I saw Lenin, he looked like he was sleeping... One man, one day(kinda), and you can change the world.

Regardless of whether you're pink in the middle like me, or not, you have to admit, it was one hell of a day in history.

Korean food was wonderful, and I have the leftovers for dinner tomorrow!

Tomorrow I'll be gone most of the day, but then after that is a nap, some reading, and then some script reading for the Russian play...

Комиссаров и Лазарев встретились на виски-вечеринке с ESTHETIC EDUCATION и выяснили, что те не любят выпить, и потому меланхоличны.

Today and tomorrow off...last 2 days of my vacation then back to the hole. I was suppose to go back to work tomorrow but my manager is an idiot so I will take it. I wanted to go to this punk rock garage sale tomorrow night anyways that my friend is a part of. He will be selling his book there. Chris isn't too geeked about it but the last one I couldn't go to since I worked so we are going this time. Its at a bar so we can have some drinks and just hang.

My neighbor came over yesterday. She isn't good with a computer and is trying to get a job. She has been on unemployment and its gonna run out soon so she's scrambling trying to get something. She was a phlebotomist for 9 years. She kept failing the personality test at Kroeger so she came over so I could help her and she could take it on my pc. I told her I would take it for her and she would pass. Ofcourse she did this time. She now has an interview this Saturday. I also applied for a couple phlebotomist jobs as well for her that had been posted. She just told me the info to type in. You really need a computer these days to get jobs and know how to use one. She is clueless. I was happy to help her out. She's a cool lady and I know she needs to find something and soon. Not sure if her or Chris would get that last extension that was just passed. The way it reads online is that you will get it if your benefits run out before the new year starts. Well Chris just got 20 more weeks under the EB unemployment. But after that he will be totally done unless he gets this last extension that was just passed. I hope more information becomes available eventually about it. Its rather vague right now and my neighbor called the unemployment office and they know nothing but then it was just passed so.

I need to go grocery shopping today and get in the shower and wash my hair. I got more Splat raspberry dye. I think I am just gonna dye my whole head this time without using the bleach in any sections. I don't want to kill my hair. I noticed I have had alittle breakage here and there...at least I think I have. I find pieces of hair on my clothes and shoulders once in awhile and it doesn't really look like a strand that I just shed. I dunno. Better to be safe then sorry. I want to keep my hair healthy and not dry it out. My roots are showing big time but it actually looks cool. It doesn't look good though when I wear it not styled up and curly I don't think.

Still have my cough...I get an attack every now and then but I am feeling much better. Still a tad congested as well. Chris still has his cough too. Its going on like 3 weeks for him and 2 for me.

Guess I should get in the shower and get ready for the day. I need to head out and get some food in this house.

5th-Nov-2009 12:14 am - Mellow Mushroom, 2nd visit...
Earlier tonight, I had a great dinner get-together with Jason, Joel, and Brandon at Mellow Mushroom out at the "Providence" place. They decided to do that tonight to mix things up some, and it was actually very nice to have a lot of conversation, which we normally don't have time for when we watch a movie. We stood around for at least half an hour outside after we were done and talked. The conversation was great and that kind of interaction was very welcome tonight!

It was my second trip to Mellow Mushroom and my impressions are very similar to the first visit. It's a bit too noisy and at times, it's difficult to have a conversation over the noise. The place has acoustic properties that reflect all the noise in the room around instead of breaking it up and absorbing it. Tonight, they had someone singing live and in the room we were in, it was piped in through the sound system and in some of his songs, the words were unintelligible and it was a loud droning noise that was annoying. The food was excellent. Tonight, I tried the "Mighty Meaty" 10 inch pizza (I'd tried the 10 inch "House Special" last time). The service was good. As I noted on the first visit, the restroom is inadequate. There are no paper towels on which to dry hands or wipe your face - just an annoyingly loud dryer thing. I've heard jet engines quieter than that. A restaurant of that caliber not having paper towels is an embarrassment, and there is only one urinal and one stall in the restroom. Want to blow your nose or get toilet paper to wipe your hands? There's probably someone in the stall. People were having to wait to use one or the other.

Wow! I haven't posted in a while. This past Saturday (Halloween night), I ended up going to Doug's since Mandi told me about the party and invited me to go. Both of them have been on my LJ friend list for years although I haven't been around either of them in person much, so increasing the familiarity with them was great. The party was the right size for me since I haven't been to many social gatherings outside the coffee shop for a while. The people there seemed nice and friendly. I also got to meet Mandi's husband, Jon, who seemed really cool. Jon has a somewhat mysterious property in that my mind cannot form a good image of what he looks like, even after seeing pictures of him and meeting him in person (although in costume and in dim light). This is rare, especially for a male. Mandi and Jon looked great in their pirate costumes and I wore a bright orange pair of jeans that I got around 1992 (and can still wear), with a black shirt. I used to have an orange top that went with it (maybe I still do). Times were so much more colorful before 1993. Doug likes a lot of the British comedy shows that I've collected, and it was neat to see someone else with some of the same collections.

Monday morning, I had a something strange happen to me. In a dream, right before waking up, I was looking at something bright. After waking up, I had the "afterimage" effect from it for a couple of minutes, just as if you looked at something colorful or bright for a while while awake and then looked away. I don't recall that happening to me ever before. That means that dreams are actually physically stimulating something as if something were really being seen if I had a real afterimage effect from it.

Sunday nights and Monday nights are usually stressful because I'm often trying to get stuff done for a Tuesday morning meeting. This week's meeting didn't go as well. There's so much to be done and it's scattering me mentally. This morning, I woke up worried, as I did Monday and Tuesday mornings, between 4 and 7 AM. The neighbors are letting their dogs out in the morning and one of them barks constantly for no reason as long as it is out. It does help me not sleep through the alarm, though.

My sense of time in the morning has been seriously screwed up since the time change, and I hate that it's dark so quickly after work, and wish Daylight Savings Time would stay the "standard time". It's harder to get work done at night when 8 PM seems so late because it's been dark so long.

I can't believe it's Wednesday already.

Dave's impending visit..yup its that TIME of YEAR again when the Bank Of Dave comes to Oregon.. He's coming in a few days to spend time with the Kid, get him the stuff he needs and to hang out with me for a while to play catch up on all fronts. This year I'm actually looking forward to seeing him again. Lisa has mellowed him and he's not wound up so damn tight. He's actually tolerable! This famous line from  the movie Ferris Buller sums it up best the way he used to be... "I could shove a coal up Cameron's ass and in two weeks I'd have a diamond.."

Heh. He's going to spend a week here, I know what's in store, about another 100.00 on cleaning products because not only is he my ex husband, he's also my mother in disguise. Speaking as an Aries Female with Scorpio rising, I will NEVER get involved romantically with another Pisces male again. These guys end up mothering OR smothering me. (Doesn't count if I never met you and only exchanged a couple of emails. Those contacts are just surface stuff)

********************************************************

My taste in movies and series have changed yet again. I've finished watching the first season of the FX series Sons Of Anarchy with Katie Segal and Ron Perlman. Its a pretty realistic protrayal of an extremely rough motorcycle gang and makes no apologies for the content which I really LOVED.
I have to say it got me, not one-dimensional story lines or plot..and I found myself giving a damn about the fate of the charactors. Henry Rollins makes a few appearances as a White Supremist and he plays an awesome bastard. Basically a good story line will draw me in and pretty much keep me there. So needless to say Two Thumbs Up.

***********************************************************************
I've finished watching Boondock Saints, This movie is BAD ASS! Unfortunately, Boondock Saints 2 won't be airing in Eugene, Why I have no idea. Quick story line? Just a couple of savvy Irish Lads who are tired of the corruption in their city and take it upon themselves to be cleaners, the result was both funny and incredibly gross.

(yeah Im aware of the term "cleaners" and what it means...in this instance, it means they clean up their city)

Im running out of cheeseball Vampire movies to watch..anyone have a suggestion?

2nd-Nov-2009 10:27 am - Officially Mrs. Frost! ~NYU!
Current mood:  happy Saturday turned out awesome as hell!  The wedding was beautiful, the reception fun....then the wedding night...oh yeaaahhhhhh! *wink wink nudge nudge*   My dad and stepmom got me and Steve a nice room with a jacuzzi tub as a wedding gift at the hotel they were staying at. (also where we had the wedding)  The staff there was so accommodating and nice.
I want to thank Rev. J.P. for doing the officiating for us.
Thank "mom" and everyone who helped put it together.
I'm still bummed my mom couldn't make it to the wedding, but, that's the past now. We plan on having a huge wedding a few years from now where everyone is invited.

During the ceremony, as Steve read his verse to me......I almost cried. TwT
I walked into the room from the lobby to Prelude by VNV Nation. I was so damn nervous, I couldn't sit still and had my heart racing. Walking down the aisle, I couldn't stop grinning like the damn cheshire cat!

It seemed so surreal. I had to ask Steve if I was dreaming. Still getting used to being married. lol
My dad had some "words od advice" for Steve.  Told him to not let me loose the "new wife smell"  *face palms*  Apparently, my new wife smell is blueberries. (I smelled like the damn things all day and didnt have any or anything that smelled like them. o_0)

All in all, everything went great and I really do appreciate all the help and effort everyone put into making our kick ass day possible!

LOVE YOU STEVE!!!!!!    ~nyu!

1st-Nov-2009 05:14 pm - Halloween and recent events
Devil's night we went out to see the neighbor's band play. I had been wanting to see them. I ran into them a couple days before at the grocery store and they told me about the show and where is was at. It was out in Davison and there were a bunch of bands playing. It was called Costumes for Cancer and was a big benefit show. It was only $5 to get in and you got food too. We barely had to buy any drinks since our neighbors kept buying them. I talked to Deb for awhile and am going to put some hot pink strips in her hair for her. She pays $100 every time she goes to the salon for a dye job. I told her I could do her hair. She was raving about my hair color and wondered if a couple strips of my color would look good in the back of her hair. So this coming week I plan to go over there and dye it for her. She's a real sweet lady. She's in her early 50's and has tats all over and dyes her hair funky colors and wears stuff like I wear. She's real cool.

We spent most of Halloween day at a power lifting meet for Chris' best friend/work out buddy. He won 2 awards. He got first place in his age division for benching 330lbs and got second place in the open age division. First place went to a 22 year old. His buddy is 45. There was this guy there that deadlifted 744 lbs. He is known nationally. He squatted 711! It was insane.

We got some bad news while at the meet. Chris' dad's band's drummer had died. We were suppose to go to Latina's that night to see them play. Apparently Jeff, the drummer never woke up Halloween morning. He had a heart attack and died in his sleep. It was a total shock. He was a real nice guy and very friendly! He was in his late 40's I believe. He was single and kind of a partying type guy. I know from some of the stories that he told that he use to be real wild back when he was younger.

Halloween night we ended up staying home and passing out a shit ton of candy. We actually ran out and had to turn off the lights. Chris' nieces and nephew came by for candy and we took some pictures and visited for a bit. Later we played some guitar hero and watched some tv. We are still both sick and have been on the go quite a bit lately so it was kinda nice to stay in where it was nice and warm.

I can't shake this cough and am still congested. Doesn't help that I was out running around in the cold wind yesterday and wasn't dressed warm enough. Chris is still coughing too. He has had this cough now for like 2 weeks. I am hoping he will go to the Doctor tomorrow. I might have to too. I really don't want to be sick my entire vacation. I still have today thru Friday off. My stupid period decided to start early today so now I am dealing with cramps on top of being sick. I am so tired of feeling crappy!

Friday just doesn't seem to work for this guy. He e-mailed me, we'll be meeting on Sunday it seems. Argh. No more Fridays.

This paper is killing me...
Happy Halloween!

Guy flaked again. I wrote him a stern e-mail. I'm really getting angry. I'm seriously going to sue him if he doesn't follow though.

I did some more work on my 8 pager. My tomorrow got canceled as well, so after practices, I'll settle in and get some more pages. On Sunday, I'll finish it, and then do the rest of the work I need to do for the start of the week. Argh. So much work.

Have a shoot on Monday, should be fun.

I'm going to bed early and getting some Zzz's.
